Asia Clean Energy Summit 2018

The 5th edition of its annual Asia Clean Energy Summit (ACES 2018), organised by the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS), focused on clean energy technology, policy and finance. Singapore Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Masagos Zulkifli, addressed delegates as Guest-of-Honour, and was followed by Director-General Mr. Adnan Zahir Amin of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). The theme of ACES 2018 was “Harnessing Clean Energy for the Future.
Some of the key experts who addressed ACES 2018 included: Mr Robert Guild, Chief Sector Officer, Asian Development Bank; Mr Duncan van Bergen, Vice President, Shell New Energies; Mr Girish Tanti, Co-Founder & Director, Suzlon Energy; Mr Ditlev Engel, CEO, DNV GL-Energy; Mr Steve O’Neil, CEO, REC Solar Corporation; Mr Michael Ding, Global Executive Director, Envision Group, among others.
SEAS Chairman Er Edwin Khew, said: “The pursuit of delivering clean and renewable energy in Asia is escalating in importance. There is ample research to show the need to stem the ongoing climate change patterns. Hence, there needs to be an accelerated transition towards sustainable energy development while increasing society’s commitment to renewable energy. ACES 2018 continues to embrace this need and has gathered speakers of international repute to share their opinions”.
