Focus on Asian Infrastructure Investment Protection under International and Domestic Law in Southeast Asia Herbert, Smith and Freehills (HSF)

In this series of seminars, HSF focus on some of the opportunities, trends and risks in the region, as well as the prevailing and anticipated future market, political, social and technological factors influencing ASEAN infrastructure project development.

This second seminar, hosted by David Clinch, HSF partner in the energy, infrastructure and mining groups in Asia, focused on investment protection in certain Southeast Asian jurisdictions and how that can be managed, with case studies based upon HSF experience as examples. The seminar covered a number of specific touchpoints including treaty protection considerations, structuring options, and local law, contractual and other protections that may be employed before, during, and after the life of the investments.
